Everyone coming to Impulse looking for potential courses of action in these present uncertain times needs somewhere to refuel and hang out, to converse, enthuse and gossip. As we did last year with the newly-opened bar at Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, this year’s Impulse will also unveil a new venue. On the bright and airy ground floor of the FFT Kammerspiele, Düsseldorf and Cologne-based creative collective Labor Fou will create this year’s festival center. An open space for eating, drinking and dancing together, for watching the football and playing bingo, for concerts, lectures, live reviews, a radio play and lots more.
The basis for the furniture, walls, alcoves and stages which give the space its structure is provided by a simple, flexible, wheeled platform which is easy for everyone to use. Help to redesign the space, move and re-group the furniture ready for intimate conversations and open discussions, lone wolves and the whole pack. And for anyone who wants to take this year’s festival motto “Start cooking … Recipe will follow” literally, there’s a small herb garden at the door to provide the right flavor and some wild strawberries for dessert.
